Panet End is a compilation of previously unreleased material from sessions from the albums " Spaces " (1970) and " Introducing Larry Coryell and The Eleventh House" (1974).   But this is anything but a collection of unreleased b sides my friends....instead this is a fantastic self contained album that stands on its own.  Two epic tracks and the addition of Billy Cobham, Chick Corea and John McLaughlin on a few tracks making this a nice LP to own.

  Musically this is jazz fusion rock with a nice psychedelic vibe throughout.  Lots of acid drenched guitar work with McLaughlin and Coryell going for it .   The 12 mins track "Tyrone" is simply superb and defines what fusion should sound like.  In many ways the song actually carries a progressive rock feel with some crazy drumming of Cobham.

Oh yeah and in the spirit of classic band YES and Steve Howe, Coyell plays an acoustic guitar track called "The Eyes of Love" which clicks in about 3:21 mins and is very reminiscent of the prog era Yes .

  Originally released on Vanguard records in 1974 this album is a treasure chest for Fusion music lovers.

  Jazz...funk..rock...prog...fusion....omg this album is simply KILLER!!!!

  Here is an album that will blow your mind !

  With talent like Randy Brecker (trumpet), Alphonse Mouzon (percussion), Mike Mandel (synth) , Danny Trifan (bass) and Larry Coryell on the guitar how can you go wrong.

Listening to this album is like a combo of Mahavishnu Orchestra meets Miles Davis meets Weather Report.  When these guys get cookin' there is nothing like em!    Frantic fusion but controlled!    Exploratory but not insane.......progressive but not over the top.....rock but not rock!

   Even some space invaders along the way!

  Thanks to my wife's mother (who grew up in Northern Scotland) and who was a big Donovan fan gave my exposure to this wonderful minstrel !

 After hearing the title song "Wear your love like heaven" i ran out and found this psychedelic folk masterpiece.  Years later this album is still one of my favs of the psych folk scene.

Softly flowing vocals and harmonies......unassuming organ, acoustic guitar and loads of flute create this dreamy musical panoramic on which Donovan paints his ornate lyrics.

 This is a pretty trippy album actually with loads of paisley montages and oil blob folk harmonies.

And even some courderoy for a little boy.

Stupid Dream was the 5th Studio album released by British Progressive Rock Recreates PORCUPINE TREE.


  The first time I think I saw PT they were touring in Quebec Canada on this album and they were absolutely brilliant.  I remember being just so amazed at this album from start to finish...i loved it then and i love it now.

  I had read a number of audiophile articles on this album and the overwhelming comments were that this 180g remaster is far superior to all the CD releases.   So...i did the unthinkable and picked up the double vinyl Steve Wilson remaster and now see just how much better this is......

  PT have been on the cutting edge of the prog rock scene for about 15 years now and Stupid Dream is for me one of their finest moments.

  This albums sounds better than ever !   Mother i need her !!!!!

  A very young Shirley Bassey with the full brass support of the sensational Geoff Love and his Orchestra....man you cant beat this!!!...in fact the whole album is FABULOUS!

  Bassey sings her heart out on 12 standards including "They cant take that away from me" , "S' Wonderful", "April In Paris" and "Cry Me A River".

  Her version of "The Party's Over" will make you cry.......she sings with so much conviction and emotion.

  How could you pass up an album like this ?    Geoff love and his ommm-pah-pah ragtime band playing some vintage classics!   I could only imagine the party that would play this album!

  Of course the album has lots of banjo...some sax....piano bar, some accordion and some beer from the roundhouse!

  With Octoberfest just around the corner this makes for the perfect seasonal listen.   The whole album is fun to listen to and is extremely butt-cake'ish but has a charm that you can smile as you listen.

Geoff is a fantastic banjo player as well.......

  They just dont make em like this anymore !     Bill Nelson's art prog rock band recorded five studio albums and one amazing live LP.   I love all the Be Bop albums with Modern Music making its way to my stereo still to this day.

  By the time of Modern Music the glam rock had totally dissapeared and was now full on art-rock mode.  Songs like "Orphans of Babylon" , " Forbidden Lovers" and "Kiss of Light" remain amongst my fav BBD tunes !
