Billy Preston started off in the 1960s working as a studio musician, playing with the likes of Little Richard and Ray Charles and then met The Beatles. "Thats The Way God Planned It" was Preston's first album released on Apple Records .
Assisting Preston on the album is George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards and Ginger Baker.
The album covers a wide spectrum of music with soul, rock, gospel, jazz and R&B . Preston covers Dylan's ("She Belongs to Me") and a funky ode to Jimi's "Hey Joe" titled "Hey Brother".
The whole album is groovy and soulful with some great vocals and harmonies.
