Bill Nelson - Red Noise (1979)

Bill Nelson - Red Noise

Sound On Sound was Nelson's first album after the break up of Be Bop Deluxe and marks a definite change in direction from his past. No question Bill Nelson has a highly imaginative musical imagination and this solo album gets to continue to show off his ability to write great pop synth art rock music.

Some songs actually border on the sound of DEVO and GARY NUMAN and even XTC but the end result is very much Bill Nelson!

Songs like "Furniture Music", and "A Better Home in The Phantom Zone" mark this album as a fantastic solo effort and a great stepping stone for Bill Nelson.     The song "Art/Empire/Industry" is my personal favourite from this album with its "KRAFTWERK" VOX ode and catchy as hell chorus.

A great little solo album from the genius of Be Bop Deluxe
