I first heard and fell in love with Harris during her days with Gram Parsons....
Blue Kentucky Girl was IMHO one of her best albums and was up to that part her most "country" sounding LP to date. Helping out Harris is a cast of some of the heavy weights including Ricky Skaggs, Dolly, Albert Lee, Tanya Tucker, Linda Ronstadt and Don Everly.Fittingly one the best songs is her haunting "Hickory Wind" which was written by Parsons which is deeply moving and spiritual. I also love her version of the classic "save the last dance for me" which really works and suits the album.
