John David Souther - Black Rose (1976)

John David Souther - Black Rose
"Black Rose" was pretty much one of those 70's albums that you forgot all about and likely sold at your garage sale.  Lest we forget that this album is a superb piece of work with some great songs and musical friends too!

Souther may not be a household name but fans of the Eagles will be glad to know that this guy co-wrote many of their big hits with Glen Frey and Don Henley including " new kid in town", "heartache tonight" and "best of my love".

Souther is assisted on this album by a wonderful cast of friends including David Crosby, Don Henley, Glen Frey, Art Garfunkel, Andrew Gold, Linda Ronstadt, Stanley Clarke, Joe Walsh, Donald Byrd and others......
